On 9 June, on the eve the Day of Russia, member of the Public Council at the Investigative Committee of Russia, State Adviser of Justice of the 1st class, Honoured Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Deputy Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vice-President of the Union of Criminalists and Criminologists Alexander Zvyagintsev was invited as an honorary guest to the Moscow State Linguistic University (MSLU), where a unique reconstruction performance “The Nuremberg Trials: History lessons for the Present and the Future” was staged.
This is the only performance in the world in which all participants in the process speak their native languages: Russian, English, German, French. And the translation to each viewer (via headphones) is carried out synchronously. “It turned out very interesting!” — A.G. Zvyagintsev.
Before the performance, Rector of MSLU I.A. Kraeva told the audience that Alexander Zvyagintsev proposed the idea to stage this performance by students in 2020 when he gave a report at an international conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Nuremberg Trials.
This time, speaking from the stage to the audience, Alexander Grigorievich spoke about the significance of the Nuremberg trials and historical memory, focused on new challenges and threats.
In addition to students and University teachers, the hall was attended by employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Diplomatic Academy, Commonwealth of Independent States Anti-Terrorism Centre (CIS ATC), Military University of the Defence Ministry of Russia, as well as representatives of other departments, public organisations and educational institutions.
