On 19 April 2023, State Adviser of Justice of the 1st class, Honoured Lawyer of the Russian Federation, Deputy Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vice-President of the Union of Criminalists and Criminologists Alexander Zvyagintsev spoke at the opening of the second All-Russian School Historical Forum “Power is in Truth!”. He also took part in the discussion and answered questions.
The Forum, which consisted of two stages and was broadcast live on the Internet, was held in the Russian Information Agency (RIA) on the platform “Russia Today” in the format of the Moscow – Simferopol video bridge.
It was also attended by: Minister of Education of Russia Sergey Kravtsov, General Director of the Russian Society “Knowledge” Maxim Dreval, General Director of the All-Russian Centre for the Study of Public Opinion Valery Fedorov, Rector of Moscow Pedagogical State University Alexey Lubkov and others.
The forum “Power is in Truth!” is traditionally held in spring and is timed to the United Action Day is to preserve the historical truth about the crimes of the Nazis and their accomplices against peaceful Soviet citizens during the Great Patriotic War in the occupied territory.
It brings together leading historians, representatives of the scientific community, sociologists and researchers who form vectors for further work on historical education of young people, as well as children who are interested in studying history and popularising historical knowledge.
After the break, the work continued in the format of a round table.
The discussion was held on the topic:
“Why is it so important today to preserve the memory of the events of the past and restore historical justice?”
During the discussion of the topic, fragments from the documentary film “Nuremberg”, shot according to Alexander Grigorievich’s script, were shown.
The participants of the event outlined a programme of further actions.
In memory of the meeting, A. Zvyagintsev presented some of his books to the youth.
The participants did not want to part! Alexander Grigoryevich promised to meet again and continue the dialogue.
