Moscow International Forum ‘Energy Security. Eurasian Scenario’
(Moscow, 21 April 2021)
On 21 April 2021, the National University of Oil and Gas ‘Gubkin University’ hosted the Moscow International Forum ‘Energy Security: Eurasian Scenario’ (hereinafter also referred to as the Forum).
The Forum was attended by prominent state and scientific figures from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Great Britain, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, France, heads of international organizations, representatives of the public and mass media, leading scientists and practitioners in the field under study, experts from the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, representatives of scientific public organizations of the Russian Federation.
Problems of energy security from the point of view of technological and information security, issues of ‘green’ economy, environmental pollution including the formation of a carbon footprint and waste disposal were addressed at the scientific event.
The Forum participants held extensive discussions and exchanged views on the relevant issues. Emphasizing the importance of energy security as an essential and integral component of national security and one of the priority areas of international cooperation, the Forum participants adopted the following decisions:
- on the annual holding of the Forum;
- on conducting joint scientific research in the field of energy security;
- on the publication of scientific materials of the Forum (monograph, collection of research papers and abstracts, speech transcripts);
- about the media coverage of the Forum results, including the placement of press releases on the websites of the National University of Oil and Gas ‘Gubkin University’, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Union of Criminalists and Criminologists as well as all other interested organizations;
- on sending information about the Forum results and recommendations to the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), including the Energy Department and other subject-matter departments;
- on sending the Forum final recommendations to the Interparliamentary Assembly of Member Nations of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS), including the Secretariat of the Assembly Council;
- on informing the executive and legislative authorities of the Russian Federation, including all interested ministries and departments, about the Forum results;
- on holding a competition of student research papers competition on energy security issues in order to popularize the Forum ideas among young people and involve students in scientific life;
- to support the holding of the Russian Energy Week on 13–16 October 2021 and take part in the events planned within the framework of this Week;
- to support joint meetings, forums and conferences with the participation of leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of energy security in order to strengthen, increase and develop scientific knowledge on the stated and other issues.
The Forum participants express their gratitude to and emphasize the contribution of the Rector of the National University of Oil and Gas ‘Gubkin University’ Vladimir Georgievich Martynov, as well as all the University employees and, above all, students, to the organization and holding of the Forum.
The Forum participants express their gratitude to the Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Viktor Antonovich Sadovnich for supporting the idea of holding the Forum, as well as to the University professors for participating in its work.
