On 8 December, the Union of Criminalists and Criminologists Annual Meeting was held at Kutafin Moscow State Law University (MSAL).
Due to the epidemic situation, members of the Union from Russia and other countries took part in the Meeting remotely.
The event was opened by the Vice-President of the Union Professor Oleg Zaitsev. He welcomed the members of the Union of Criminalists and Criminologists and outlined the plan of the Annual Meeting.
The first Vice-Rector of the MSAL, Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Elena Gracheva addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
As a Special Guest, Anatoly Kulikov, President of the Club of Military Leaders of the Russian Federation, General of the Army, ex-Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, made an interesting report. In his speech, he told about his professional path, gave an assessment of various political and diplomatic phenomena and processes of the modern world. After the speech, Anatoly Sergeyevich answered questions from the Union members.
In turn, the President of the Union of Criminalists and Criminologists Professor Igor Matskevich summed up the results of the Union work in 2021. He noted the high level of Union activities, despite various difficulties. The President also outlined the goals and directions for 2022.
At the end of the Meeting, Igor Matskevich thanked the Union members for their fruitful work in 2021 and expressed confidence that next year it will be no less efficient.
Head of the Moscow Criminological Practice Sebila Salamova spoke on research, educational and organisational activities of the Criminological Practice. Sebila Yakubovna also noted an increase in the level of student activities within the Union of Criminalists and Criminologists.
