On 3 January 2023, the sale of a famous bestseller started in Russia – the novel called “Sarmat”. The book is written by Honoured Lawyer of the Russian Federation, State Adviser of Justice of the 1st class, Deputy Director of the Institute of State and Law of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Senator for life of the International Association of Prosecutors, Secretary of the Union of Writers of the Russia, Vice President of the Union of Criminalists and Criminologists Alexander Zvyagintsev.
For 25 years of its history, the novel has been published many times in Russia in different publishing houses. It was awarded many literary prizes. Its circulation has long exceeded a million copies. This time the work, consisting of four volumes, is printed under one cover – in a new modern gift binding in the “Ripol-classic” publishing house.
A bit of history
In 1997, the first volume of the popular novel “Sarmat” was published.
In the future, the work about the hero of special military operations, Major Sarmatov, was filmed. The main role in this blockbuster was played by the well-known and beloved by the audience actor Alexander Dedyushka. He died in a car accident together with his whole family in 2007 at the age of 45.
This tragedy occurred exactly one year after the multi-part film “Sarmat” (11 episodes) received the highest cinematographic award of Russia given by the National Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences of Russia – the Golden Eagle Award.
