President of the International Police Association Russian Section (IPA RS) Yury Zhdanov supported the signing of the Code of Ethics in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
‘The adoption of the Code of Ethics for AI is the first step to regulate this Internet segment. But in the future it is necessary to provide for a regulator at the state level,’ Head of the IPA RS Yury Zhdanov told RIA Novosti.
On Tuesday, the Code of Ethics for Artificial Intelligence was signed in Moscow. The document was developed taking into account the requirements of the National Strategy for the Development of Artificial Intelligence until 2030. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, Rostelecom, Yandex, Skolkovo, InfoWatch, HSE University, SberBank, MTS, Vkontakte, Gazprom Neft, Russian Direct Investment Fund and others – about two dozen companies in total.
‘The proposed Code is a step forward in managing the Internet. However, it is not a regulatory instrument but a recommendation. After all, this field of activity requires regulation by the state and international treaties in the future,’ Mr Zhdanov believes.
According to him, the adopted Code will just help to study the way regulation works so far at the level of recommendations. In addition, it is important that the document is compiled taking into account the opinions of major players in this very industry
