The history of normative documents: 15 January

On 5 January 1724, Peter I issued a decree On pulling out the nostrils of convicts and prisoners of war. It was told to take out the nostrils of the convicts sent to eternal hard labour right to the bone in order to find them when they escaped and distinguish them from other people.
