90 years ago, illiteracy among the Soviet population was finally eliminated

On 14 August 1930, the Central Executive Committee (TsIK) and the Council of People’s Commissars (SNK) of the USSR issued a decree “On universal compulsory primary education”. This date is considered the victory day over the population’s illiteracy in Russia.
